Grote Knip, also called Playa Kenepa Grandi, is the beach that shows up in most Curacao photography, a broad curve of white sand below a limestone cliff on the island's west end. It is a free, public beach with no entrance fee, though the parking area can get genuinely chaotic during peak hours since it is also the most visited beach on the west side. A path and steps lead down the cliff to the sand, and the same cliff gives photographers the elevated view most Curacao postcards use. Bring cash for the restroom and any chair rental, both run separately from beach access itself.
Best time
Arrive before 10am. It's free and famous, which means the parking area and the sand both fill up by midday, especially when tour coaches arrive.

Generally calm and good for swimming, though the steps down the cliff are worth knowing about if anyone in your group has mobility concerns.
