The roughly four hours start with a theory session on diving, its risks and how to dive safely, then move to the water at the tugboat dive spot or Caracasbaai, where sea turtles are a possibility. The first stretch is treated as confined water; when everybody is comfortable the group descends one by one to practice equalizing and run the exercises, and the session finishes with a real dive tour to a maximum depth of 12 meters.
