Playa Lagun sits in the small fishing village of Lagun on the northwest coast, a narrow cove between rock walls with a cliffside restaurant overlooking the water. It's free with free parking, and the snorkeling is genuinely excellent: sea turtles are commonly seen, especially in the morning, alongside sardines, parrotfish, butterflyfish and the occasional green moray eel. The honest tradeoff is the entry: it's rocky rather than sandy in the shallows, with sea urchins present, so water shoes are close to essential here.

Morning is best for turtle sightings and the calmest water for the rocky entry.
