Curacao Marriott Beach Resort Review: Which Marriott to Actually Book (2026)

The quick answer

Curacao has three Marriott-family hotels and only one is a beachfront resort: the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort on Piscadera Bay, about 5 minutes from historic Willemstad and about 15 minutes from the airport, with 328 guest rooms and eight suites, two pools, and an on-site coral nursery run with Reef Renewal Foundation Curacao. It is all-ages and room-only, not all-inclusive. The Renaissance Wind Creek sits downtown at the Rif Fort with a big casino and a raised man-made beach, and the Courtyard by Marriott is a downtown Willemstad city hotel with no beach at all.

Three hotels on Curacao carry a Marriott-family name, they sit in two completely different parts of the island, and only one of them is a beachfront resort. That mix-up is the most common booking mistake we see on this property, so here is the answer before anything else: the beachfront one is the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort, on Piscadera Bay.

One thing up front, plainly. This is our local team's informed assessment, not a write-up of a paid overnight stay, and we are not going to dress it up as one. It draws on the resort's own published details, independent reporting, verifiable conservation records, and the themes that recur across guest reviews. Where we could not verify something, we left it out.

Which Marriott in Curacao? All three, sorted

1. Curacao Marriott Beach Resort, Piscadera Bay. John F Kennedy Boulevard 3, on Piscadera Bay, which the resort describes as about 5 minutes from historic Willemstad and about 15 minutes from Curacao's Hato airport. Genuinely beachfront, all-ages, 328 guest rooms and eight suites, two pools, and room-only rather than all-inclusive. This is the property this review is about.

2. Renaissance Wind Creek Curacao Resort, Otrobanda, at the Rif Fort. Baden Powellweg 1, on the harbour waterfront in Willemstad's Otrobanda district, next to the historic Rif Fort, with 237 rooms and a single outdoor infinity pool. Read its beach description carefully: the private elevated saltwater beach and Infinity Beach Club is a man-made sand deck on the second floor above the harbour, not a natural stretch of ocean sand. It also holds the Wind Creek Carnival Casino, 15,000 square feet with more than 250 gaming machines and 12 tables, which is the largest casino floor of any of the three. The awkward double name is not a typo: the hotel traded as the Curacao Renaissance Resort & Casino until Wind Creek Hospitality bought it, together with the Aruba Renaissance, in a purchase reported by hotel trade press in 2018. Our Renaissance Wind Creek Curacao review covers that property on its own terms.

3. Courtyard by Marriott Curacao, downtown Willemstad. Pater Euwensweg 11 in Otrobanda, which Marriott's own site calls a downtown Willemstad hotel, within walking distance of the Queen Emma Bridge and the Kura Hulanda and Curacao museums. It opened in 2024 with 150 rooms and two suites. It has a pool with a shallow beach-style entry, which is probably where some of the confusion starts, but there is no beach on the property.

One correction worth making, because it actively sends people to the wrong hotel. Search listings for the Courtyard's page on Costco Travel, a large third-party seller, still carry the line that it is an all-inclusive resort nestled on the sandy beach of Piscadera Bay. It is neither. When we pulled that live page, the sentence was not in the Courtyard's own description and its beach was listed as swimmable and nearby rather than on site. The wording belongs to Dreams Curacao, a genuine all-inclusive that really is on Piscadera Bay, and it turns up on several other Curacao hotel pages on that site, which is what template bleed looks like. Trust the brand's own address over a reseller's blurb.

One more address trap: the Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort, a real all-inclusive under Hilton's Curio Collection, sits along the same road at Pater Euwensweg 31, on the Rif coast beside the fort. Same street, very different hotels.

What the Curacao Marriott actually is

A large, all-ages, full-service beach resort sitting directly on Piscadera Bay, with 328 guest rooms and eight suites, all with private balconies, following an extensive renovation and rebrand under the Marriott name.

There are two pools, Serenity and Harmony, described by an independent reviewer as an adults pool and a family pool, both facing the sea. Marriott lists seven restaurants on site: JFK Steakhouse, the flagship; Zala Gastro Lounge for Asian and Caribbean sharing plates; Koi Kòrá Sushi Bar; the recently expanded Salty Iguana Ocean Grill, the all-day poolside bar and eatery; Salty at the Beach, a Mediterranean grill directly on the sand; JFK Restaurant for breakfast; Papiamentu Marketplace for coffee and baked goods; and the Paradise Beach Bar. Also on site: a spa Marriott's own listing calls Treatment Rooms, a fitness centre, a Kids Club and a Club Lounge that both carry a fee, and Goby Divers, a dive shop at the far west end of the beach.

Be precise on the meal plan, because this is where people get caught. Marriott's own guest questions state breakfast is available on site for a fee, and tour operators sell the resort on a European plan, the trade term for room-only. We found no all-inclusive package attached to it. If a reseller offers you one, confirm in writing what it covers before you pay. Being a Marriott Hotels & Resorts property, it earns and redeems Marriott Bonvoy points, which the two Hyatt Inclusive Collection all-inclusives sharing this bay do not.

The beach and the coral nursery

The beach is real and it is on the property, which is the whole reason this resort exists in the shape it does. It is not a flawless postcard: an independent reviewer describes fine white sand giving way to larger rocks in stretches, with warm, clear water and genuinely busy reef life just offshore, including parrotfish and angelfish. Bring water shoes if rock underfoot bothers you.

The more distinctive thing is underwater. Reef Renewal Foundation Curacao, founded in 2015, maintains eight coral nurseries around the island at dive resorts and public beaches, and the Marriott Beach Resort holds one of them, alongside sites at LionsDive, the Avila Beach Hotel, Marie Pampoen, Cas Abao and Playa Kalki, according to dive-industry coverage of the foundation's tenth anniversary in 2025. The resort has publicly announced a partnership with Reef Renewal and with Goby Divers to offer guests a complimentary eco-experience at the nursery.

That is verifiable and genuinely rare: you can snorkel off a resort beach over a working coral nursery. If reef time matters on your trip, our beach and snorkelling guide covers where else to point your mask.

Who it is for, and who should pick something else

Book this one if you want a beachfront, all-ages resort where you are free to eat around the island instead of inside a wristband, you want a Bonvoy stay, and you want Willemstad close enough to visit on a whim rather than as an expedition. Piscadera Bay is a small cluster: your only neighbours are Dreams Curacao and Zoetry Curacao, both Hyatt Inclusive Collection all-inclusives, with Dreams descending from the original 1967 Curacao Hilton. That makes the Marriott the beachfront non-all-inclusive option on this bay, which is precisely its niche.

Pick something else if:

You want a true all-inclusive. Only five Curacao resorts are genuinely all-inclusive: Sandals, Dreams, Zoetry, Sunscape and the Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort. Two of those, Dreams and Zoetry, are your Piscadera Bay neighbours; Sunscape is over on the Mambo Beach and Seaquarium strip, and the Corendon Mangrove is on the Rif coast in Otrobanda. Start with our Curacao all-inclusive resorts guide and our Dreams Curacao review, since Dreams is the all-ages one with a casino a short way along the same shoreline.

You want adults-only. The Marriott takes all ages, and a family pool is a family pool. Be careful shopping this category here, because listings blur it. Zoetry, next door, is described by Hyatt's own page as adult-oriented but with children permitted, and it is not directly on the beach either; its guests reach sand via the Il Mare Beach Club at Dreams, a short golf cart ride away. The only genuinely enforceable adults-only hotels on Curacao are Sandals Royal Curacao, 18 and over brand-wide, and Art Hotel Curacao, which states it does not accommodate children. Our Curacao adults-only hotels guide lays that out properly.

You want to walk out into the city. Piscadera is a short drive from the historic core, not inside it. If you would rather step out of the lobby into Otrobanda, read our Renaissance Wind Creek Curacao review and our Willemstad first-timer's guide instead.

The honest caveats

Piscadera sits between the airport and town, not near the famous beaches. This is the caveat that surprises people most. The postcard beaches on the west end, Cas Abao, Playa Kalki, Grote Knip, are still a genuine drive away. Fine if you plan for it, a problem if you assumed the island was outside your door. Our car rental guide covers what that commits you to, and our west versus east guide covers how much driving each half asks for.

Room-only means the food bill is a real line item. Guests commonly note that food and drink prices run high on property and that breakfast is not included in the room rate. That is a budgeting fact rather than a scandal, but it changes the true cost of the week, especially for a family.

The resort sells day passes to non-guests. Guests commonly note the beach and pool areas being busier on those days. If a quiet, low-density beach is the point of your trip, this is not the property for it.

Service accounts split. Plenty of guests describe warm, attentive staff who fixed problems for them; others report slow or inconsistent service, particularly around the pools. Both patterns recur too often to dismiss either one.

The bottom line

If you want beachfront, all ages, room-only and Bonvoy on Curacao, the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort in Piscadera Bay is the property that fits, and the coral nursery on its doorstep is a real reason to prefer it over its neighbours. If you want everything paid up front, or adults-only, or a hotel you can walk out of into the historic city, one of the alternatives above serves you better. The other two Marriott-family hotels are not substitutes for this one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Marriott is best in Curacao?

It depends on the trip. The Curacao Marriott Beach Resort in Piscadera Bay is the only genuinely beachfront resort of the three and the best pick for a beach week. The Renaissance Wind Creek in Otrobanda suits city walkers and casino players. The Courtyard by Marriott is a downtown business hotel and is not a resort at all.

Is the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort all inclusive?

No. It is room-only. Marriott's own guest information states breakfast is available on site for a fee, and tour operators sell the property on a European plan, the trade term for room-only. Only five Curacao resorts are genuinely all-inclusive: Sandals, Dreams, Zoetry, Sunscape and the Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort.

Does the Curacao Marriott have its own beach?

Yes. It sits directly on Piscadera Bay with its own beach, two pools facing the sea, and Goby Divers, a dive shop at the far west end of the beach. An independent reviewer notes the fine sand gives way to larger rock in places, so water shoes are a reasonable pack.

Is the Courtyard by Marriott Curacao on the beach?

No, and this is a common error. At least one large reseller's search listing describes the Courtyard as an all-inclusive resort on the sandy beach of Piscadera Bay. That description actually belongs to Dreams Curacao. Marriott's own site places the Courtyard at Pater Euwensweg 11 in downtown Willemstad, near the Queen Emma Bridge, with no beach on the property.

How far is the Curacao Marriott from Willemstad and the airport?

The resort describes itself as about 5 minutes from historic Willemstad and about 15 minutes from Hato, Curacao's international airport. Piscadera Bay sits between the two, which is convenient for city days but still leaves the famous west-end beaches a real drive away.

Does the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort earn Marriott Bonvoy points?

Yes. It is a Marriott Hotels & Resorts property sold on Marriott's own site, so it earns and redeems Marriott Bonvoy points. Its two Piscadera Bay neighbours, Dreams Curacao and Zoetry Curacao, are Hyatt Inclusive Collection resorts and do not.
