Two properties on Curacao are genuinely, enforceably adults-only: Sandals Royal Curacao at Santa Barbara, and the 30-room Art Hotel Curacao in Pietermaai. That is the entire list, and it is far shorter than the search results imply.
Three other names dominate those results, and not one of them is what most people assume. Zoetry Curacao is described on its own operator's website as adult-oriented with children permitted. Avila Beach Hotel restricts a single room category to adults, not the hotel. Dreams Curacao runs a genuinely adults-only wing inside an otherwise all-ages family resort. Each of those can still be the right booking. None of them is a property where you will not see a child.
"Adults-only" is one of the loosest phrases in Curacao hotel marketing. A third-party venue directory will list a property under an "Adults All-Inclusive" heading while the operator's own page says children are welcome, and both can sit near the top of the same search. Our best hotels on Curacao roundup covers the island's stays generally; this post is only about the age policy, checked against each operator's own material rather than a booking-site badge.
The shortlist
6 hand-picked
Our pick for a genuinely enforced adults-only all-inclusiveSandals Royal Curacao
Santa Barbara / Spanish Water18+ brand-wide, roughly 350 all-inclusive rooms on west-facing beachfront, opened April 2022 on the former Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort site. The island's only adults-only all-inclusive.
By far the largest adults-only property on the island, so no children does not mean quiet, and Willemstad is a planned drive rather than a walk.

Our pick for a design-led adults-only city baseArt Hotel Curacao
Pietermaai18+ per the hotel's own about page, 30 rooms, opened 2025, designed by the Piet Boon studio with local artist Cas Aalbers in the Soho of Curacao.
No sand and not all-inclusive. Pietermaai's coastline is largely rocky limestone, so this is accurately oceanfront but is not a beach resort.

The island's only genuinely adults-only wingIl Mare at Dreams Curacao Resort, Spa & Casino
Piscadera BayAn adults-only Preferred Club section of 52 beachfront bungalow suites with its own infinity pool, poolside bar, and restaurant, new for the 2025 season.
It sits inside an all-ages family resort with a casino, so it is an adults-only pocket rather than an adults-only holiday.

Adult-oriented, but children are permittedZoetry Curacao Resort & Spa
Piscadera BayA 72-suite boutique all-inclusive, the former Floris Suite Hotel, which was itself adults-only. Hyatt's own page now states the property is adult-oriented but children are permitted.
Not an enforced child-free stay, and not on its own beach; guests use the Il Mare Beach Club at Dreams next door, a short golf cart ride away.

Adults-only by room category, not by hotelAvila Beach Hotel (Oceanfront Blues rooms only)
Near Pietermaai, WillemstadThe Oceanfront Blues category is 18+ per Avila's own room-types page. The hotel itself is historic, with an 18th-century governor's mansion core and its own real beach.
The hotel is not adults-only and markets its own family programming, so pools, restaurants, and the beach are shared with families.

What adults-only actually means here
Four genuinely different things are sold under the same two words, and the difference matters more than any amenity list.
Enforced and property-wide. A stated minimum age applies to every guest in every room. Only Sandals Royal Curacao and Art Hotel Curacao qualify. Sandals is 18 and over brand-wide; Art Hotel states it does not accommodate children but does not publish a minimum age, so confirm it directly if an exact cutoff matters.
An adults-only section inside an all-ages resort. A gated wing with its own pool and restaurant, sitting inside a resort with a kids' club nearby. That is Il Mare at Dreams Curacao.
An adults-only room category. One wing or room type is age-restricted while the rest of the property stays open to families. Avila Beach Hotel's Oceanfront Blues rooms.
Adult-oriented, children permitted. Small, quiet, expensive, overwhelmingly adult in practice, with no enforced age floor written down. Zoetry Curacao and Baoase both sit here.
For any property we have not covered, check the operator's own about, policies, or FAQ page rather than an aggregator filter. And if a child-free stay is the actual point of the trip rather than a nice-to-have, get it confirmed in writing on your booking before you pay.

Sandals Royal Curacao, Santa Barbara
The most reliable answer on the island. Sandals operates an 18+ policy brand-wide, so this is not a local marketing line that quietly bends in low season; it is the same rule at every Sandals resort. The property runs roughly 350 all-inclusive rooms and opened on April 14, 2022 on the site of the former Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort, which is now closed. Older reviews still carry the previous name, worth knowing when you cross-check. The setting is west-facing beachfront on the Santa Barbara and Spanish Water side of the island.
The honest caveat: this is by a wide margin the largest adults-only property on Curacao, and adults-only is not a synonym for quiet at that scale. Roughly 350 rooms of couples still produces a busy pool deck and a queue at dinner, and Willemstad is a planned drive rather than a walk from here.
Art Hotel Curacao, Pietermaai
The newer of the two and the more unusual. Art Hotel Curacao is adults-only, confirmed on the hotel's own pages, which state plainly that it does not accommodate children, though it publishes no numeric minimum age, with 30 rooms in Pietermaai, the restored district east of Willemstad's historic core that gets called the Soho of Curacao. It opened in 2025, with a March debut reported after an early-2025 target, and was designed by the Piet Boon studio in collaboration with local artist Cas Aalbers. It is a design hotel with an age policy rather than a resort, and that is the point of it. It is also not all-inclusive, which matters if you were comparing it against Sandals on price.
The honest caveat: no sand. Pietermaai's coastline is largely rocky limestone rather than beach, so the boutiques here are accurately oceanfront but are not beach resorts, and no amount of good design changes that. What you get instead is a walkable dinner and drinks district, covered in our Pietermaai nightlife guide, with the historic core a short walk away via our Willemstad guide. Il Mare at Dreams Curacao: a real adults-only wing inside a family resort
Dreams Curacao Resort, Spa & Casino is an all-ages resort, and that is the headline. Inside it sits Il Mare, an adults-only Preferred Club section of 52 beachfront bungalow suites with its own infinity pool, poolside bar, and restaurant, introduced as a new section for the 2025 season and tied to specific Preferred Club Mare Beachfront Bungalow categories. So a genuinely adults-only space is available here, in its own gated stretch of beachfront.
The honest caveat, unsoftened: the wider resort is a family resort with a casino, and you will be walking through it. Il Mare is an adults-only pocket, not an adults-only holiday. It works well for a mixed group where some travellers have children and some do not, since everyone stays on one property. It disappoints couples who booked it as a straight substitute for Sandals.
Zoetry Curacao: adult-oriented, but children are permitted
This is the correction that matters most, because Zoetry is the property most often listed among Curacao's adults-only resorts, including by directories that put the words "Adults All-Inclusive" in its name.
Hyatt's own Zoetry Curacao property page states it plainly: "This property is adult-oriented, but children are permitted." That is the operator's own wording, not our inference, and it settles the question. Zoetry is a 72-suite boutique all-inclusive on Piscadera Bay, and it is the former Floris Suite Hotel, which was itself adults-only at 18+. That history is the likeliest source of the confusion: the policy left with the rebrand, but the reputation stayed.
There is a second thing the same page clears up. Zoetry is not on a beach of its own. In Hyatt's words, "Although Zoetry Curacao is not directly on the beach, guests enjoy exclusive access to the private beach at Il Mare Beach Club, an adults-only Preferred Club section at Dreams Curacao Resort, Spa & Casino, just a short golf cart ride away." So the beach you will actually use is the adults-only wing at the resort next door.
The honest caveat: book Zoetry for the quiet, the suite count, and the spa, all of which are real. Do not book it as an enforced child-free stay, because the operator does not promise one. If that is the requirement, confirm it in writing or pick Sandals or Art Hotel instead. For sand-first planning generally, our beaches guide beats any resort's own description.

Avila Beach Hotel: adults-only by room category, not by hotel
Avila is regularly listed as adults-only, and it is not.
What we verified on Avila's own website: its room-types page flags the Oceanfront Blues category as adult-only, 18+, aimed at couples and honeymooners, and the hotel's own social posts describe the renovated Oceanfront Blues room as adults-only. So the room-category restriction is real and it is Avila's own claim. But the same website runs a dedicated Curacao family vacation section describing the hotel as a family beach resort, plus interactive workshops for kids and parents and a booking filter for travelling with family. A property marketing its own kids' programming is not a resort-wide adults-only hotel, and nothing on Avila's own material supports the wider claim.
So book Oceanfront Blues for an adults-only room. Do not book Avila expecting an adults-only stay.
The honest caveat is exactly that split: everything outside the wing, the pools, the restaurants, the beach, is shared with families. Avila is still a genuinely interesting property on its own terms, with an 18th-century governor's mansion at its core and its own real beach, which is rare on that stretch of coast. Just book it for what it is.
Adults-oriented but not adults-only
Clearly labelled, because nobody should book these expecting no children.
Baoase Luxury Resort, on the south coast just outside Willemstad, runs 23 suites and villas on its own beachfront and caters heavily to couples. It is not officially adults-only and we will not call it that. In practice it is small, quiet, and adult in atmosphere, which is a different and more honest claim.
Many of Pietermaai's small boutiques and guesthouses also skew adult through size, stairs, and layout rather than policy. If quiet matters more than an enforced rule, that category is worth a look, and our hotels page and where to stay guide cover the areas behind those choices.

Which one to pick
Want a large all-inclusive with a rule you can rely on: Sandals Royal Curacao.
Want design, a walkable district, and dinner without a car, and do not need sand outside your door: Art Hotel Curacao.
Want an adults-only beachfront bungalow and can accept a family resort around it, or are travelling as a mixed group: Il Mare at Dreams Curacao.
Want quiet, boutique, and spa-led, and do not strictly need a child-free property: Zoetry Curacao.
Want Avila's historic setting and its real beach, and can live with families elsewhere on site: book the Oceanfront Blues category deliberately.
The honest bottom line
Curacao is not an adults-only island. Two properties enforce it, one wing inside a family resort delivers it, one hotel restricts a single room category, and several more sell the mood without the rule. Worth knowing the scale involved: the island has only five all-inclusive resorts in total, Sandals, Dreams, Zoetry, Sunscape, and Corendon Mangrove, and of those five, only Sandals is genuinely adults-only. Our all-inclusive guide covers the full set.
Any of these can be the right booking. The mistake is paying for one and arriving at another.
If you are building a couples trip around one of them, our Curacao honeymoon and romance guide covers the rest of the week, our dining guide covers where to eat off-resort, and our vacation cost guide sets expectations on the whole thing. To compare live availability, start at our stays desk, and our trip planner can sequence the beach and boat days around it.
