The short answer: Dreams Curacao Resort, Spa & Casino is a 197-room, all-ages, beachfront all-inclusive on Piscadera Bay with an on-site casino, seven dining options, four bars, three pools, a kids club for ages 3 to 12, and a newer adults-only beachfront section called Il Mare. It is also the former Curacao Hilton, a building that first opened in 1967, and that single fact explains most of what guests love about it and most of what they complain about.
One disclosure before anything else. This is our local team's assessment of the property, built from the resort's own published materials, trade press coverage, and the patterns that show up repeatedly across public guest feedback. It is not a write-up of a paid overnight stay, and we are not going to dress it up as one. Where we could not verify something, we say so rather than guess.
What Dreams Curacao actually is
Dreams Curacao holds 197 rooms and suites, each with a private furnished balcony, on the sandy frontage of Piscadera Bay, according to Hyatt's own listings for the property. The address is John F. Kennedy Boulevard, which puts it between Hato airport and the historic core of Willemstad rather than out on the Jan Thiel and Mambo Beach strip where a large share of the island's other resort inventory sits. That position is underrated: Willemstad is a short drive, not a half-hour commitment, which changes how likely you are to leave the resort.
The all-inclusive runs on Hyatt's Unlimited-Luxury format, so meals, drinks, tips, and taxes are bundled and no restaurant reservations are required. Hyatt lists seven dining options and four bars, three pools (a main pool with poolside service, an infinity pool with ocean views, and a kids' pool), a spa with an outdoor whirlpool, and an on-site casino. There is a dive operation on the property with its own pier, and non-motorized water sports such as kayaking and snorkeling are included in the rate; scuba diving and deep-sea fishing cost extra, which the resort states plainly in its own published FAQ.
For families, the Explorer's Club covers ages 3 to 12, runs daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., is staffed by CPR-certified team members, and issues pagers to parents.
The casino is real and on the property. The resort's own materials call it the island's only poker room and only sportsbook with live betting, though we could not verify either superlative, so treat both as marketing. Expect table games to open later in the evening than the slots.
One genuine differentiator: the beach here is a real resort beach on the bay, not a borrowed arrangement, and the comparison below explains why that matters.

The Hilton connection: what this property used to be
This is the search that brings most people here, so here is the straight answer. The building opened on December 8, 1967 as the Curacao Hilton. Its cornerstone was laid by Prince Bernhard in September 1965, and it was opened by Governor Nicolaas Debrot alongside Conrad Hilton himself. The original 200-room hotel was designed by the Puerto Rican firm Toro Ferrer, the same practice behind the Caribe Hilton in San Juan, working with the Curacao architect Ben Smit. The remains of Fort Piscadera, an eighteenth-century fortification built to guard the bay, were restored into the resort's landscaping and are still there.
Then came four decades of name changes: Curacao Concorde in 1983, then Curacao Caribbean Resort, then Curacao Casino Resort, then Sheraton Curacao in 1999, then Hilton Curacao again in 2003 under owner Lionstone. In 2019 it went through a renovation reported at $15 million and reopened late that year as Dreams Curacao Resort, Spa & Casino.
So the practical takeaway is simple. The Hilton name has not applied to this property since 2019, and Hilton has no relationship with it now. If you search "Hilton Curacao" today you will be pointed at a genuinely different business, the Mangrove Beach Corendon resort, which sits on the same bay but is separately owned and operated. Booking one while thinking you are getting the other is an easy and expensive mistake.
Dreams is now marketed under the Hyatt Inclusive Collection and participates in World of Hyatt. That came through corporate acquisition rather than anything on the ground: Hyatt completed its purchase of Apple Leisure Group, owner of the Dreams, Zoetry, and Sunscape brands, in November 2021.
Dreams vs Zoetry vs Sunscape: sorting out the Hyatt resorts
This is the most common Curacao all-inclusive question there is, and much of what is written about it online is wrong, so it is worth being precise. Curacao's all-inclusive field is small to begin with, roughly five properties island-wide, and three of them carry Hyatt Inclusive Collection branding. They are not, however, three adjacent resorts sharing one beach, whatever you may have read.
Dreams Curacao (197 rooms and suites, all ages, casino, and the real beach on Piscadera Bay) is the mainstream, highest-volume option of the three, and the only one of the three with the 1967 Hilton lineage.
Zoetry Curacao Resort & Spa (72 suites) genuinely is next door on Piscadera Bay, about ten minutes from the airport, and it is the former Floris Suite Hotel. It is the quiet, boutique, wellness-leaning option of the three. Two things get reported wrongly about it, and Hyatt's own pages settle both. First, Zoetry Curacao is, in Hyatt's own words, "adult-oriented, but children are permitted", despite being widely described online as adults-only; if a guaranteed child-free property is your requirement, Zoetry Curacao does not meet it. Second, Zoetry Curacao is not directly on a beach at all: its guests get exclusive access to the private beach at the Il Mare Beach Club over at Dreams, a short golf cart ride away, and its suites are garden, tropical, and pool view rather than beachfront. Sunscape Curacao Resort, Spa & Casino (341 rooms and suites) is the property most comparison articles get wrong. It is not adjacent to the other two and it is not on Piscadera Bay. Its address is Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard 78, on the Bapor Kibra side of Willemstad near Mambo Beach and the Curacao Sea Aquarium, which is a different part of the island entirely. Two more Piscadera Bay properties get dragged into this comparison wrongly: the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort and the Mangrove Beach Corendon resort sit on the same bay but are separate businesses under different ownership and brands. Cross-access runs more freely in one direction than the other. Zoetry guests get full access to Dreams, including its beach. Access the other way is narrower: Hyatt's own materials tie full Zoetry access to the Il Mare Preferred Club bungalow categories at Dreams, not to every room in the building. If cross-access is part of why you are booking, confirm it against the specific room category before you pay for it.

Who it is for, and who should pick something else
Book Dreams Curacao if you want a straightforward all-ages beach week with a casino on site, a genuine beach, seven restaurants you never have to reserve, and a short drive into Willemstad. That particular combination does not exist anywhere else on the island at this scale.
If you want adults-only, Dreams has one and it is narrowly defined. Il Mare, Adults-Only Preferred Club, opened in January 2025 as a 52-bungalow section with its own infinity pool, a pool bar, butler service, and an a la carte Mediterranean restaurant called Battelino. The bungalows are free-standing, roughly 377 square feet, with private oceanfront terraces and direct beach access. The catch is structural: Il Mare sits inside an otherwise busy, family-full resort, so it is an adults-only enclave rather than an adults-only holiday. If you came to Curacao to explore the island, this is probably the wrong base, or at least the wrong plan. An all-inclusive you have already paid for exerts a strong pull to stay put, and Curacao's best beaches and shore dives sit well outside Piscadera Bay. The honest caveats
Guests commonly note that parts of the property feel dated. That theme recurs independently across multiple review platforms, and it is not surprising for a building that opened in 1967 and was last renovated at scale in 2019. Il Mare is new. Large parts of the resort are not.
Food draws the most consistently mixed feedback. The recurring pattern in public reviews is that the buffet is the weak point and the a la carte restaurants are better without being remarkable. Slow service is the other theme that comes up often enough that you should expect it rather than be surprised by it. We are not attaching a score or manufacturing a quote; the pattern is the useful part.
Two smaller items from the resort's own published information catch people out. Wi-Fi is free throughout the resort but does not extend to the pool and beach areas. And motorized water activities, scuba diving included, are charged separately despite the all-inclusive framing, which is worth budgeting for on an island whose main draw is underwater.

Dreams Curacao is a fair, mainstream all-inclusive with a genuinely good beach, a real casino, an unusually convenient position relative to Willemstad, and the most interesting history of any hotel on the island. It is also a 1967 building wearing 2019 renovations, and guest feedback splits along exactly that seam. If your week is mostly about the beach, the pools, and not thinking about logistics, it delivers what it promises.
